Our CEO Mr. Ali Alhammadi

With more than 28 years' experience behind him, Ali Alhammadi is the CEO of Sora Marine Services Company Ltd with responsibility to create and startup this international standard company serving the marine industry in Qatar. Prior to this, Mr. Alhammadi was in charge of the creation, startup and development of Qatar International Petroleum Company Ltd (Tasweeq) and served as the CEO for the initial 2 years. This company is considered the flagship marketing company for the State of Qatar's hydrocarbons, responsible for generating more than 60% of the State revenue. He worked for 3 years as Director Marketing for Qatar Petroleum and was in charge of its restructuring. Before that Mr. Alhammadi served as COO, Commercial and shipping, for Qatar gas group of companies. During his time he was in charge of the commercial and shipping negotiations for the expansion of QGII (with Exxon Mobil & Total), QG 3 (with ConocoPhillips) and QG 4 (with Shell) with total LNG production of 32 million tones and investment reaching US $ 30 billion.

Mr. Alhammadi spent 5 years in Japan as the project manager for the construction of the first LNG carrier built for Qatar (10 vessels) and also the first GM for the liaison office for Qatar gas in Nagoya, Japan.He served as a marine engineer in Halul Island responsible for the maintenance of QP crafts and 2 SBMs (Single Buoy Mooring). He joined QP (offshore) after completing his 4 years onboard ships training with United Arab Shipping Company.

In addition to his normal duties, Mr. Alhammadi served in leading rolen its Board for the initial 5 years. He represented QP on the Management Committee for the Al Shaheen oil field development with Maersk to increase the production to almost 500k per day.s in various organizations. He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors for South Hook LNG Company Ltd in Wales, the UK. Responsibility includes the development and startup of the largest LNG terminal in Europe. He was member of the Executive Committees for QGII, QG3 and QG4 overseeing the development of these mega projects. He played a key role in the development of Qatar Gas Shipping Company Ltd. (Nakilat), especially during the initial stages and served on its Board for the initial 5 years. He represented QP on the Management Committee for the Al Shaheen oil field development with Maersk to increase the production to almost 500k per day

Mr. Alhammadi was Qatar's Governor for OPEC for 3 years. He holds 2nd Class Engineer Certificate from AMTA in Sharjah, UAE and BSc. (Hons) in Maritime Studies from John Moors University in Liverpool, UK. Qatari native married to Dutch wife and father of 3 boys.He enjoys boating, fishing, desert excursions and occasional golf.
