Management the fleet of the Banana Island Resort
In 2014 Sora Marine was awarded the contract by AlRayan Hospitality to maintain and operate the fleet of the newly built passengers’ ferries to serve the newly built Banana Island Resort. We operated Eighteen (18) boats that were built and in Turkey and delivered to Qatar. Sora Marine had to commission and take over the vessels from the shipbuilder crew. Within three weeks of signing the contract we commenced the first operations and managed to recruit, mobilize, and train over 160 staff in the first three months. As promised to the client, we achieved three ISO accreditations by Lloyds Register in the first six month. In one year, we transported half a million passengers safely an on time. Our crew and services had to match the hospitality level of the five stars Anantara Resort, who operates the premises.
